Introduction to Hall Barn Lodge
Hall Barn Lodge comprises over 30 members from a wide range of different backgrounds and ages.
All of our members have an interesting story to tell and have a diverse array of interests.
We enjoy good friendship and support through our extensive social gatherings and more formal events ceremony all of which are wholeheartedly encouraged and supported by all members.
Hall Barn, Freemasons Lodge Beaconsfield, offers a contemporary experience of freemasonry, blending modern-day expectations with solid historical foundations.
A message from our Worshipful Master

Dear Brethren and Friends,
Welcome to the first Worshipful Master’s message on the brand new Hall Barn N 8480 website. Briefly, I promise, a little of my Masonic career to date.
I was initiated into Hampden Lodge No. 6483, meeting at Ripon St Aylesbury in 2012 and raised in March 2015 when I was a Lodge Steward. The pandemic in 2019 and on from there saw many changes in the way Lodges were organised and run, and some had to struggle to survive in the turbulent world we found ourselves in. Hampden is a Saturday Lodge, which was useful when I was working, but when we sold our company and I eventually retired, we wanted to be able to use our cruiser, which we keep on the Thames at the weekend.
It was then that I discovered that my neighbour and acquaintance of 35 years, Andy Barr, was firstly a Mason and was also a member of Hall Barn Lodge, to which I subsequently became a joining member and went straight into the office of Senior Deacon.
Progressing through the offices, I finally took the Chair of King Solomon in March 2025 for the very first time.
I’m grateful for all the support you have given me, Brethren, and I will do my best to carry forward the good name of Hall Barn Lodge. I know with your support, we will continue to grow the Lodge in the measured manner on which we have always prided ourselves. After all, as you know, Hall Barn is one of the premier Lodges in the Province of Buckinghamshire.
At present, we are a very membership healthy Lodge and have welcomed several new Masons into our midst as well as some joining members, notably W Bro Ian Gronbach, a past Grand Officer, W Bro Peter Spring formerly of No 2818 Kirby Lodge, London Grand Rank, and will very shortly welcome Bro David (call me Baz) Chriton, who was formerly a member of Balfour Melville Lodge in Scotland.
In May, we initiate another new Mason and in June, yet another, and I am confident that they will receive a very warm welcome and be involved from the off in our charitable, fundraising and social events.
In order to maintain the great experience we all enjoy, I continue to encourage less experienced masons and old campaigners alike to participate in meetings and, just as importantly, Lodges of Instruction, furthering the enjoyment of your continuing friendship and your continuing enjoyment of your freemasonry
I am available to anyone who wishes to call on my support.
Sincerely and Fraternally
Worship Brother Brian Franklin
